How to Use
  1. Paste your CSV data into the input textarea
  2. Select the appropriate delimiter for your CSV
  3. Choose whether the first row contains headers or data
  4. Enter a name for your Excel worksheet (default: Sheet1)
  5. Click "Convert & Download Excel" to generate and download the file
  6. Open the downloaded .xls file in Excel or any spreadsheet application
  7. Your data will be formatted as a styled table
  8. Use the example CSV to test the conversion

Tips:

  • • The generated file is in Excel 97-2003 format (.xls) for maximum compatibility
  • • All modern spreadsheet applications can open this format
  • • Headers are automatically styled with a green background
  • • Empty CSV cells appear as empty cells in Excel
  • • Special characters are properly escaped for Excel
  • • The file downloads immediately when conversion is successful
  • • You can rename the sheet by changing the "Sheet Name" field
  • • Large CSV files may take a moment to convert

Note:

This tool generates Excel-compatible HTML files with the .xls extension. While these files open perfectly in Excel and other spreadsheet applications, they are technically HTML-based rather than binary Excel format. For more advanced Excel features or very large datasets, consider using dedicated spreadsheet software for the conversion.
